Built on the success of Murray 1, this follow-on contract saw PHE Group deliver another milestone upgrade for Snowy Hydro – renewing the control systems of four 100MW generators to strengthen energy reliability, futureproof renewable output, and sustain one of Australia’s most iconic power stations.

Murray 2 Power Station formed part of Snowy Hydro’s long-term asset life extension strategy and required extensive interface planning, environmental preparation, and flexible delivery to meet outage windows. The work built on a long-running relationship between PHE and Snowy Hydro, combining internal continuity with regional capability to deliver in a highly regulated and remote environment.

Winter conditions – icy roads, sub-zero temperatures, and reduced visibility – were addressed through pre-winter scheduling, snow-specific inductions and cold climate PPE. Routine across our Snowy portfolio, these measures helped reduce risk and maintain project continuity.
