To realise MACH Energy’s flagship asset and its role in meeting global demand for quality coal, PHE Group delivered the electrical contract for the Mine Infrastructure Area (MIA).

Located just outside Muswellbrook in the Hunter Valley, the Mt Pleasant Operation is MACH Energy’s flagship coal mine – a greenfield asset approved to deliver up to 10.5 Mtpa of high quality thermal coal. Developed to meet surging global demand, the operation required a Mine Infrastructure Area (MIA) that could support every aspect of production: from administration and workforce amenities to fuel, water, vehicle servicing and coal handling.

PHE was subcontracted to FCS to deliver the full electrical package for the Mine Infrastructure Area. Our scope included the supply and installation of external area lighting on 8-metre tilt poles; electrical installation and data fit-out for the administration complex; and supply and installation of cable supports across the site. We also delivered lighting and power systems for the light and heavy vehicle wash bays, diesel fuel farm, water treatment plant, sewage plant, Tyre Bay, MIA and CHPP boom gates, along with complete electrical commissioning.

The project was completed LTI-free, with more than 9,000 hours worked over a ten-month program.
