PHE Pty Ltd was awarded the E and I contract for the installation of the Train 3 floatation circuits Hydrofloat. The T3 Hydrofloat is the first full scale pilot plant for this technology within Newcrest. The Hydrofloat is an aeration system to disperse fine bubbles into a fluidized-bed environment to assist in increasing gold recovery. Diesel and Potassium Amyl Xanthate (PAX) is added to the concentrate to enhance the recovery of product.
PHE completed the project LTI free with more than 8500 direct man hours completed on the project over 6 months.
PHE Pty Ltd was contracted to install and terminate an 11/3.3kv Toshiba VVVF drive for the 3.3kv 1030kw primary cyclone feed pump, Install MCC tier extensions on the 415v MCC in the switch room, upgrade the control systems, under a separate contract PHE undertook all the electrical work associated with the existing switch room extension to accommodate the new project, supplied and installed all stainless cable supports throughout the structure, supplied installed and pre-commissioned all Yokogawa process instrumentation, manufactured and installed all local control station mounting stands, installed all air operated control panels inclusive of all instrument air tubing, supplied and installed all area lighting, supplied and installed lighting protection to the structure, undertook all Stage 1 and Stage 2 commissioning and assistant.
The Newcrest leadership team acknowledged PHE for a professional installation and for completing the installation ahead of SMP. The Newcrest commissioning team had personnel thanks for James Fitzpatrick and Steve Lee for their involvement in bringing the Hydrofloat circuit online during Stage 2 and Stage 3 commissioning.
